Married At First Sight's Bronte Schofield and Harrison Boon suffered a painfully awkward wedding night following Monday's car-crash nuptials.

The couple appeared on the verge of splitting after their wedding when Bronte's friend Jess told her Harrison had a 'secret girlfriend' waiting for him outside the show - who was later identified as Bachelor star Abby Miller - and tensions were just as high on Tuesday.

During the episode it was revealed that Bronte, 28, and Harrison, 32, spent their first night as husband and wife sleeping in separate beds.

Harrison was then seen awkwardly defending himself to a stony-faced Bronte as they sat on the couch.
