Ben Price has described evil Damon Hay in Coronation Street as a boa constrictor as his character Nick Tilsley struggles to get out of the drug dealer's hold.

The crook, played by Ciaran Griffiths, has wreaked havoc on the cobbles, making his dramatic entrance after Nick took money to tide him and his family over from his brother Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor).

He added that Nick did not realise just how much of a villain Damon was: 'I think he thought, naively, that Damon wasn't the same as his brother, maybe not as bad or as dangerous. That's the thing with Nick, he's just naïve.'

The character is son of Brian Tilsley (Christopher Quinten) and has shown a more villainous side in the past, which Ben is enjoying returning to.

It comes as Damon's illegal drug plot looks set to cause yet more drama for Nick Tilsey and his son Sam on Coronation Street next week, after The Bistro is
