MAFS 2023: Bride leaks email from producers exposing BTS secret trends now

A former Married At First Sight star has leaked an email from Nine's social media team that exposes one of the show's biggest secrets.

Beck Zemek, a bride from the 2020 season, revealed the cast have to supply the publicity department with captions for their Instagram posts before they have even seen the corresponding episodes.

While it's common knowledge Nine controls the participants' social media accounts when the show is airing, and that all their MAFS-related posts have to be approved, many fans assumed the cast would at least have some idea of what was going to air beforehand.

But this isn't the case, and instead the brides and grooms are supplied with promo photos only and must caption them without knowing what is going to be shown on TV.

This can lead to confusion because each episode represents a 90 minute summary of potentially hundreds of hours of footage.

Beck revealed during an Instagram Q&A this week that during her season she was provided with a photo of her and 'husband' Jake Edwards and had to caption it.

She wrote a caption alluding to a big argument they had which she assumed would be the focus of their storyline that episode.

But a member of the 'MAFS team' emailed her to say this argument had been edited out, so she couldn't reference it in her caption because it would confuse viewers.

By keeping the cast in the dark about what is going to be included or edited out, Nine's publicity department ensures any disgruntled participants won't post spoilers.
