Nicola Thorp has opened up about the moment new fiancé Nikesh Patel proposed to her at their flat last month.
Appearing on Jeremy Vine on Thursday, the former Coronation Street star said Nikesh set up candles, photographs of their pair together and even blindfolded her for the surprise.
'There was candles everywhere and he was in a tuxedo and there was photos everywhere about us and a little nod to my grandmother passed away,' Nicola explained.
'I was in tears,' she added.
Nicola said she was shocked at the proposal, as Nikesh never asked about her ring size or the type of diamond she wanted.

She also added that she thought he was setting up an 'escape room' in their flat for date night.
'The moment was unusual because I wasn't expecting it, I thought, he'll ask me questions about rings sizes or what kind of ring I want and he hadn't. He blindfolded me,' she said.
'I thought we were having a date night, I thought he was setting up an escape room... he knows I love that sort of thing.'
'And then I took the blindfold off and there was candles everywhere and he was in a tuxedo and there was photos everywhere about us and a little nod to my grandmother who had passed away. I was in tears.'
She added: 'We're very, very happy. This is my fiancé, I'm getting used to saying that still.. we've been together two years. It's a good ring.'
Nicola announced her engagement to fiancé Nikesh late last month.
