Ashton Kutcher has publicly apologised to hitmaker Harry Styles for an extremely awkward encounter at a mutual friend's karaoke party.
The actor, 44, admitted he had no idea who the former One Direction singer was when they first met which led to him making some embarrassing remarks.
Ashton revealed in an interview with Esquire that he and actress wife Mila Kunis attended their neighbour's lavish party when the awkward run-in happened.
He explained that he had been left in awe after seeing a partygoer perform ABBA and felt compelled to go and compliment the performance.
As it turned out the performer was Harry, 29, with Ashton being none the wiser.

Ashton recalled: 'I said "Man, I gotta tell you something. You're like a karaoke ringer. You're really good, like, really good."'
To which the singer humbly replied his thanks, saying he 'appreciated' the compliment.
To Ashton's horror, his friend then informed him that it was a famous singer, with his wife Mila having to explain that Harry was in fact a big name in the music world and part of One Direction.
Ashton recalled: 'I was like, "Oh my God, now I feel like a jerk," . He's a professional singer, and we're trying to tell him he's a good singer!'
