Megan McKenna gets a tattoo on her finger of the word 'yeehaw' in a nod her new ... trends now

Megan McKenna has got her first ever tattoo of the word 'yeehaw' on her finger in a nod to her new career as a country singer.

The former reality TV star, 30, has taken to Instagram to show her 2.5million followers her brand new ink.

Posting on Sunday, Megan tagged her London-based celebrity tattoo artist who has inked the likes of Premier League footballer Mason Mount, singer Sam Smith and David Beckham's son Romeo.

Megan's new career releasing music and going on tour is world's apart from her time on hit reality series TOWIE, Big Brother and Ex On The Beach.

She revamped her persona since appearing on The X Factor: Celebrity - which she was crowned the winner from, bagging her a record deal with Syco in the process.

Posting a black and white snap of her looking on at her tattooist focusing intently on inking two of her fingers, Megan captioned the post: 'Cowgirls first ink'.

Showing a close-up of the tiny tats, her ring finger had the word 'yeehaw' in a typewriter font, and a small red line heart on her little finger.

Megan has previously written about her 'tough' journey to 'prove' to the public that her passion lies within music.

Writing on her social media profile in November, Megan said: 'It's a tough journey proving to so many that music is my passion & where I’m meant to be.

'I know some of you have supported me from my tv days & followed me pursuing my true dream.

'I can’t thank you all enough from the bottom of my heart of how grateful I am that I'm being able to do what I love as my full time job.

'I remember seeing other artists Spotify wrapped & wishing I could post one! I’m so proud of the growth of my listeners & streams this year and I couldn't of done it without you all. 

'What a way to end my year… these numbers & im about to go on tour! I FREAKIN LOVE YOU MY COUNTRY BABIES - All I ever wanted is…. This!'
