QuestLove told Variety: 'I’ll give the spoiler alert away. Will Smith was a part of the festivities tonight, but they started shooting Bad Boys 4 this week.

'There were a lot of preliminary shots that he had to do, so we had to lose Will.'

This comes after Smith and Martin Lawrence revealed they  are returning for the fourth installment of Bad Boys.

The news comes one year after Smith slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars over his joke about wife Jada Pinkett Smith's hair.

The fourth film in the franchise was confirmed by Sony Pictures, according to Variety.

On Tuesday morning, Will shared an Instagram video announcing the news - with Martin, 57, making an appearance in the clip.

The Bad Boys franchise began in 1995, with the sequel released in 2003 and the third film in 2020.

The fourth film in in pre-production, the outlet reported.
