Beyoncé fans reacted with fury after the Grammy Awards on Sunday when some began to question whether Diplo had shaded the singer after her history-making win.

Beyoncé broke the record for the most Grammy Awards ever won over the weekend, surpassing the legendary conductor Georg Solti's long-standing record of 31 lifetime wins.

But viewers at home who scrutinized the video of the 41-year-old songstress accepting her 32nd award wondered if Diplo, who was competing for the same award, might have shaded the hitmaker as she rose to the stage.

Although the 44-year-old producer couldn't be heard amid the commotion of the audience — much of which stood to give a standing ovation — some fans attempting to lip read though he said, 'They bought that,' while chatting with a companion.

But others offer competing interpretations, suggesting that he might have said something along the lines of 'Glad I'm part of that,' which could reference his past collaborations with Beyoncé.

Beyoncé's win for the Best Dance/Electronic Music Album with her album Renaissance was kicked off with James Corden announcing the award.

In video from the ceremony, she can be seen rising and breathing a sigh of relief as her clapping husband Jay-Z lets out a whoop next to her.

They move in for a loving hug just as the feed cuts to some of the other nominees, including Diplo, who was competing in the category with his self-titled album.

He turns his head to a friend and makes the unclear aside. The competing interpretations proved to be compelling, as both of the major theories for what he said lined up perfectly with his lips on the video.
