The television presenter, 52, had only minutes to spare before going live, when her director informed her the pink dress she had chosen was blending into the background.
Susanna then slipped into a red dress, but had a new outfit mishap when the second dress 'gaped open' at the chest.
She was forced to rely on a brooch to secure the ensemble and ensure she was covered up sufficiently.
As she read the news, Susanna had her dress held together while someone from the wardrobe team pinned the front.

Susanna revealed: 'I had a bit of an outfit, wardrobe crisis this morning. I put an outfit on that seemed to blend into the background, so the director with two minutes to spare said, 'Is there anything else in your wardrobe?'
'So, at two minutes to six, nipped into the wardrobe, found this, didn’t realise it needed a bit more buttoning up. It was a last minute cover-up job!'
Her co-star Ed Balls added: 'I’ve never ever read a news headline from the autocue while simultaneously trying to unzip you from the back!'

She offered a rundown of what an average day looks like for her during an interview with The Sunday Times magazine, which begins with a 3.40am wakeup call from her alarm clock.

The mother of three said that the start of her day is quite rushed as she throws on a coat over her pyjamas and brushes her teeth before getting into the car, which has been sent to take her to the studio.
