Cara Delevingne wants to 'freeze her eggs' in order to realise her dream of becoming a mother, a prospect she admits to nurturing since the age of 16.

Delevingne has embarked on a positive new chapter after images of the model and actress in a dishevelled and erratic state at California's Van Nuys airport emerged in 2022.

Having since checked into a residential rehabilitation facility to combat her protracted substance and alcohol abuse - issues she admits were exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic - the British star is now looking ahead to one of her long-term goals.

In a far-reaching interview with Vogue, Delevingne, 30, says she has harboured dreams of raising children from her  teens, a turbulent period during which her own mother, socialite and former Selfridges personal shopper Pandora, was struggling with heroin addiction.

'I’ve wanted a kid since I was 16. I want babies so bad,' she explained. 'Back then I would not have been ready, of course - I just wanted to replace the need to look after my mom with a kid of my own.'

Pandora is now free of drugs and fully committed to recovery, a path her daughter is currently walking after years of periodic substance abuse that began in her rebellious teens.

She said: 'I was happy as a kid for sure, but I think when I grew up, I looked back [at her mother's addiction] and realized, that's not normal. And then as a teenager, it just all came plummeting down.

'That’s also when I started drinking and partying. There was this need to escape and change my reality as I was hit with just huge questions: What am I doing here? Who am I trying to be?'

Delevingne, who identifies as biexual and pansexual, admits her personal struggles have also extended to being completely transparent about her own sexuality.

Her reluctance to discuss such issues were evident in recent six-part Channel 4 series Planet Sex - a no holds barred exploration of gender, sexuality and desire.
