Sanam looks mortified as she accidentally drops the L bomb to Kai during ... trends now

They were crowned winners of Love Island 2023 - beating original couple Ron Hall and Lana Jenkins to the £50k cash price. 

But moments before the big reveal, Sanam Harrinanan, 24, looked mortified as she accidentally dropped the L bomb to Kai Fagan, 24, during the final.

During an interview with host Maya Jama, Sanam slipped up while gushing over Kai and said: 'I fell in love with...' before covering her mouth with her hand in shock and breaking down in tears.

Meanwhile, he told viewers to 'watch this space' about making the beauty his girlfriend in the outside world.

Fans rushed to Twitter to share their thoughts on the special moment, with one penning: 'Sanam saying she's fell in love with Kai!!!' 

Another said: 'AWW Sanam crying was so cute and wholesome even Maya was about to cry' 

A third said: 'Kai and Sanam not rushing I love you's and exclusivity for the cameras. Just letting it flow naturally '

The social worker and PE teacher, who fell for one another during the Casa Amor trip and were bookies' favourites, were speechless after host Maya Jama announced the results during Monday's live final in South Africa.

Tom Clare and Samie Elishi placed third, while airport security officer Shaq Muhammad, 24, and Tanya Manhenga, 22 were the first out. 

After their win, Sanam told Maya, 28,: 'I can't believe it', while Kai was lost for words with Ron and Lana proving gracious runners-up as they congratulated the couple with the rest of the finalists.

Like every romance on the show, they have had a rough ride - with Kai's former love interest Olivia left furious when his head was turned in Casa Amor - as was hers.
