The Bachelor: Zach Shallcross eliminates Charity Lawson after meeting her ... trends now

Zach Shallcross sent Charity Lawson home during the rose ceremony after going to her hometown and meeting her family on Monday's episode of The Bachelor on ABC.

The 26-year-old Orange County, California native started the season 27 episode declaring that he could 'see a future' with 'all four of these women'  before ultimately deciding at the end that he couldn't give Charity, 26, the love she deserved.

Moments before the rose ceremony, Charity told host Jesse Palmer, 44, that she was falling in love with Zach, who has yet to shed his 'boring Bachelor' nickname.

'That was huge for me,' Charity said. 'He's just done a fantastic job of making me feel seen and making me feel wanted and just by just being myself, and that's all I ever wanted.'

Charity started to cry.

'I one-hundred percent see myself at the end of this with Zach,' Charity said. 'For me getting a rose tonight, it would just show me that after meeting my family that I could see a future with you. And so there is literally nothing more I want.'

Charity and the other three women were all confident in their relationship with Zach, but there were only three roses on the table. He handed the first one to Ariel Frenkel, 28, a marketing executive from New York City; the second to Kaity Biggar, 27, an emergency nurse from Austin, Texas; and the final rose to Gabi Elnicki, 25, an account executive from Pittsford, Vermont.

'I'm so sorry Charity,' Jesse said.

Charity hugged the other women and started to cry. Zach walked her out.

'No, it's okay you don't have to apologize,' Charity said.

Zach sat down with her on a bench.

'This is hard,' Charity said crying. 'Really hard.'

'I hope you know from my heart this is the hardest decision I've had to make,' Zach said. 'I've been sick to my stomach all day. I want you to know it wasn't till right before this and I might be making the wrong decision.'

'Don't say that,' Charity said. 'I took a big risk coming here. Obviously, coming here putting my heart on the line and I knew that from night one, the moment that you spoke, and the moment that I knew it was you, I knew that this experience was going to be something incredible. It's bittersweet for sure.'

'I know you don't want to hear this from me but you deserve all the love and I couldn't give it to you,' Zach said.

Charity left crying.

'Sometimes that's the way life goes and it sucks,' Charity said. 'But it means I'm one step closer to finding who I need to be with.'

When the show started Zach was preparing to go to the remaining women's hometowns. Zach first went to Gabi's hometown of Pittsford. She showed him how to drill into trees to get maple syrup and they walked in the woods and kissed.

'I think love could be right around the corner with Gabi,' Zach said in a confessional.

At night, Gabi took Zach to see her family. Gabi's older brother Evan pulled Zach aside to talk.

'I'd like to know truthfully what your full intentions are as far as my sister is, somebody you really see as a sweet person inside and you care about her?' Evan asked.

Zach said he saw a future with Gabi.

'I don't want her to come out of this broken and defeated,' Evan said. 'I want her to come out of this happy and in love.'

Later, Gabi shared her feelings with Zach.
