Lorraine Kelly's ITV show was thrown into chaos on Thursday when the host revealed she had lost her voice.

After struggling with a bad throat on Wednesday's show, the 63-year-old was forced to hold up a sign after being unable to continue and asked Dr Hilary Jones for help.

GMB's Kate Garraway, 55, and Ben Shephard, 48, cut to Lorraine to find out what was coming up, only to be met by the Scottish star and her written predicament.

The message read: 'I've lost my voice, Hilary can you take over?'.

Thankfully show regular Dr Hilary was ready to help and he let the audience in on what they had to look forward to.

Giggling Kate said: 'It'll be like watching it on subtitles.'

Lorraine later went on to host the show with the help of by Hilary after croaking: 'I have been taking tonnes of medication.'

Later in the show Lorraine handed the audience over to This Morning's hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.

After croaking through the chat Phillip cheekily told her to: 'Go suck on a fisherman's friend'.

'I defiantly will' Lorraine declared, leaving the cheeky This Morning hosts sniggering like naughty school kids.

Meanwhile otherwise straightforward outside broadcast went awry after a resourceful dog managed to let itself out of the house during Tuesday's edition of the show.

The ITV1 show has embarked on a whistle-stop tour of the UK to interview former winners of its weekly competition while promoting a tax-free £120,000 Mother's Day giveaway.

Reporting live, on-the-spot reporter Melissa Nathoo was joined by Kathy, a one-time winner who used the windfall to pay off her mortgage, and boisterous pet dog Coda at a family home in Bolton.
