A former producer on Married At First Sight has spilled the beans and shared some of the show's most explosive secrets. 

In a candid AMA thread on Reddit, the former producer said that the team are told to 'magnify and amplify' any drama for the cameras, to encourage contestants to save the drama for the dinner parties and revealed the worst scenes to film involve the families of the reality stars. 

When asked if scenes were 'fabricated' on the show, the mystery former producer said beef up the story lines. 

'I wouldn't say entirely fabricated but it's the job of post production to take a storyline or scene that was maybe a 6 or 7 out of 10 and make it an 11 out of 10. 'Magnify and Amplify' is a phrase that gets used a lot in all reality tv,' they explained.

In another post, they said producers encourage contestants to vent their frustrations at the dinner party and 'when they all sit down'.

'A big example is the dinner party, you want all the big drama to happen after they sit down. So you make sure that happens by telling them not to talk about certain things until they sit down,' they said. 

They added that working with the family of a contestant is a 'punish,' as they often try to avoid any drama.
