St Patrick's Day fell on Friday this year.

And celebrities were quick to take to social media to celebrate the annual holiday with green-themed posts and plenty of pot-of-gold and four-leaf clover emojis.

Your Place Or Mine actress Reese Witherspoon, 46, looked festive in a green and yellow dress from her brand Draper James as she posed outdoors with a drink in hand.

'Feeling green today and manifesting our own luck! ☘️ Happy St. Patrick's Day, y'all,' the caption said in another post with a green door and plenty of foliage.

Keeping Up with the Kardashian veteran Khloe Kardashian, 38, wore an army green tank top during a plug for her fashion brand Good American.

Mean Girls veteran Lindsay Lohan, 36, who is pregnant with her first child, shared a photo of a green salad as she wished her followers a Happy St Patrick's Day. 

Workout guru Denise Austin - who came to fame during the aerobics craze in the 1980s - wore a green top and green bow tie as she held a green smoothie in a very festive Instagram post.
