Julia Morris has lifted the lid on her shock divorce from husband Dan Thomas after 16 years of marriage. 

The TV host, 54, shocked fans in May last year after announcing her divorce, but on Monday Julia confirmed to The Courier Mail that the couple were heading toward a split or some time. 

'I'm famous for saying I feel like every year we're going to break up. But it definitely gets to that same point, which is that we are just not necessarily growing in the same direction,' Julia said. 

The I'm A Celebrity host explained how she began to see her husband as a 'pest' as their relationship became more fractured. 

While Julia described her marriage breakdown as 'super sad', she was determined to set an example for their daughters Ruby, 16, and Sophie, 14, not to settle for an unhappy relationship.
