Ali Wong detailed the intense toil filming her new Netflix series, Beef, took on her body during a candid Q&A at South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas

In response to a fan's question about how she and costar Steven Yeun unwound after 'performing such explosive anger' on set, the 40-year-old actress said their bodies simply 'shut down.'

'Steven and I both broke out in hives after the show. Mine was on my face. His was all over his body because he's weak like that,' she said, according to Variety.

She continued: 'It definitely took a toll on us, but we didn't even realize until after the show ended. I mean, I won't even talk about what happened to your elbow.'

The stand-up comedian went on to admit that if they both 'knew that was going to happen' she and Yeun, 39, might not have put her 'bodies and minds through' the project.

During the Q&A, Yeun confessed to following the vehicle out of anger.

According to its synopsis, Beef 'follows two strangers whose lives converge during a road rage incident.'
