Love Island winner Kai 'proposes' to Sanam in live radio stunt trends now

Love Island winner Kai Fagan pretended to propose to his girlfriend Sanam Harrinanan on Monday in a live radio stunt.

The teacher, 24, and the social worker, also 24, acted out an engagement to mark national proposal day when they appeared on the BBC Asian Network. 

Kai even shared a picture on Instagram of Sanam wearing a ring as he wrapped his arm around her as they beamed for the camera.

He wrote: 'OMG did this just happen live on the @bbcasiannetwork', along with a link to the show. 

On the show when the host Nikita Kanda mentioned it was national proposal day Kai responded: 'Listen, I'd get down on one knee any day!' 

Keeping to his word Kai popped the big question and pretended to ask Sanam to marry him live on air and Sanam said she'd accept the proposal. 

Kai and Sanam co-hosted the breakfast show and also talked about the awkwardness of getting each others number for the first time, having no phones in the villa and Sanam representing brown girls. 

On representing brown girls Sanam said: 'We are making history and I just love it!' 

Some fans got excited about the news, sharing the picture on Twitter when they thought it was real, but listeners were quick to set the record straight.

One person setting the record straight, wrote: 'Lol guys relax, it was a mock proposal. Today is national proposal day and they were just acting it out with the radio producer's ring. Kai and Sanam are still gf/bf.' 

It comes after the Love Island reunion show on Sunday night, where the pair addressed how they will spend their £50k prize money. 

Sanam said: 'I am going to be soppy but I am going to give my mum some of course because it's just me and mum so I have got to support her as well. 

'I was literally on the phone going 'Mum you are getting some, I don't care what Kai says, you are getting some', and the rest we will spend on ourselves, invest and build something with it.
