Fred Sirieix IGNORES pal Gino D'Acampo's departure from ITV's Road Trip as he ... trends now

His pal Gino D'Acampo shocked fans on Sunday by revealing he had quit the popular ITV show Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip due to 'complicated' contracts.

But Fred Sirieix ignored the repercussions as he took to Instagram on Tuesday to promote his reality show, Fred's Last Resort, on rival channel E4.

Breaking his silence, the First Dates maître d', 51, wrote, '#FredsLastResort tonight 9pm @e4grams Enjoy [laughing emoji],' while sharing a clip to his Stories.

Meanwhile, Gordon made no reference to the big news as he shared snaps of his Lucy Cat Pan-Asian restaurant in London's Mayfair.

On Sunday, Gino announced he was leaving the culinary programme after three series due to a row over 'complicated' contacts.

The show saw the Italian TV favourite travel the globe with fellow foodies Gordon Ramsay and Fred as they explore the local cuisine.

Gino said that his friendships with his former colleagues had nothing to do with his exit with their 'strong' bond meaning more to him than arguments over contracts.

Telling his followers on Instagram: 'Last week I decided not to film any more Gordon, Gino and Fred Road trips. The reason is very simple – nothing to do with Gordon or Fred, the friendship is very strong'.

He continued: 'It's just because we can't get the dates together and sometimes when we do get the dates together sometimes they get changed and it causes a lot of problems for me because I have other stuff that I have to do.

'Personal problems as well because when I have to change things with my family it is very complicated and also because [of] contracts'.

Gino is married to Jessica Stellina Morrison with whom he has sons Luciano, 21 and Rocco, 18 and nine-year-old daughter Mia.

Gino went on to say: 'Because contracts start to become very complicated and very stressful, I personally value the friendship with Gordon and Fred so much that I would rather the friendship than arguments with the contract'.

'So I have decided not to do it anymore because I want to be friends with the boys for many, many years ahead.'

An ITV spokesman said: 'A brand new series of Gordon, Gino & Fred's Road Trip in Spain will be broadcast on ITV1 and ITVX later this year' - having already been filmed.

The popular show first aired in 2018 with the trio travelling France and Italy, before heading to America in 2020 followed by a trip to Greece two years later.

The series has also spawned three Christmas specials.

Back in December during an appearance on Good Morning Britain Gino recalled first meeting his wife he was a 17-year-old chef and she was a waitress in a restaurant.

Opening up about falling for Jessica, he said how they had 'kissed for the first time in the meat fridge'.

However, the This Morning regular raised eyebrows as he spilled the beans on the couple taking their romance to the next level, telling how as an inexperienced teen, he was hoping to 'get laid' when she invited him to her house to cook.

Naples-born Gino originally moved to the United Kingdom at the age of 19 to work at The Orchard Restaurant in London.

He then started his TV career in 2004 and has gone on to become a household name and was crowned I'm A Celeb's King of the Jungle in 2009.

As well as cooking he has also worked as a host and now fronts ITV's Family Fortunes after the channel revived the show in 2020.

He has found himself shocking viewers as with a whole host of colourful incidences and innuendos not always suitable for daytime TV.

Most recently he left This Morning viewers in hysterics earlier this month as he went on a mission to learn how corks are made.
