Tyler James Williams opened up to GQ about the 'traumatic' stardom he endured as a teen when he broke through in Hollywood with his starring role in the sitcom Everybody Hates Chris.
The Abbott Elementary star, 30 – who recently detailed his near-fatal battle with Crohn's disease – also revealed that a producer once told him that he'd 'probably never work again' after Everybody Hates Chris, which ran from 2005 to 2009.
In an interview published on Wednesday, Williams told the publication that he realized 'pretty f***ing quickly' how child stars were sentenced to 'juvenile purgatory' in Hollywood.
A producer on Everybody Hates Chris summed up Tyler's future as an actor with a devastating prediction: 'I'll never see you as anything else and you'll probably never work again.'
The Golden Globe winner conceded that the producer was probably just speaking in jest, but Williams said that he was deeply hurt by the joke, adding: 'I was like, "Holy s**t, you really just looked at me and said that."'

He described fame as 'the weirdest s**t in the world,' adding: 'It was traumatic. I still get triggered by things that are part of everybody else's childhood.
