CeeLo Green insisted that nothing bad had happened to a horse he recently took a tumble from in a statement he posted to his Instagram account on Friday.

The 47-year-old singer and rapper spoke out after he was blasted by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) for the stunt, as the organization said the situation could have mentally and physically harmed the horse.

On Wednesday, Green attempted to make a grand entrance at a birthday party honoring the late rapper Shawty Lo in Atlanta by striding in to the venue atop a gorgeous dark horse.

However, the floor tiles of the venue proved to be too slippery for the animal, which lost its footing, causing the musician to roll off it onto the ground.

He tried to downplay the failed spectacle in his post, writing, 'I felt like it could be fun and funny to make a grand entrance on this beautiful animal for a very special occasion.'

He added that he was 'with friends and family who all know my sense of humor,' which he said was how he shows '#love.'

'We went through all the proper channels to make that happen with no ill intent towards the animal,' he continued. 'It should’ve been short and sweet but some malfunctions happened and it is what it is but know that I’m ok and yes the horse is ok as well.'

He concluded the post by thanking his fans for their 'love and concern,' but he focused more on reassuring people that he was fine, rather than focusing on the plight of the horse.

After video of Green falling from the horse went viral earlier this week, PETA Senior Vice President Lisa Lange said in a statement that 'It doesn’t take a genius to know that horses don’t belong at a noisy, crowded party, where slippery floors and strobe lights can agitate them.

'If CeeLo bumped his head, PETA hopes it knocked some sense and compassion into him,' she added.

PETA's post also notes that that the horse fell during the commotion, and another video going around has a better view of the
