The scripted pilot based on Jessica Simpson's coming-of-age memoir Open Book has been shelved by Amazon Freevee.
The 42-year-old singer was set to be one of the executive producers on the show — written by Californication's Tom Kapinos — that is inspired by her best-selling memoir of the same name.
According to Deadline, the concept is currently being shopped at other production companies since Amazon Freevee changed their mind after previously ordering the pilot last October.
In the pilot, Katelyn Tarver, 33, was casted to play Sadie Sparrow - an up-and-coming singer based on The Dukes of Hazzard alum herself.
Alongside Tarver, John Stamos, 59, would also play Butch Thorn - a divorced former singer/songwriter grappling with alcoholism and self-destructive proclivities.
