Oscar-winner Jessica Chastain, 46, is stepping into the role of a top secret investigator known as the Savant for a new limited series from Apple.
The Savant - which is also the name of the series - 'infiltrates online hate groups to take down the most violent men in the country,' per Deadline.
The eight-episode series is based is based on a true story by Andrea Stanley that was published in Cosmopolitan in 2019. Stanley will consult on the series which is being produced by Anatomy of a Scandal's co-creator Melissa James Gibson.
'An elite investigator who tracks angry men online, she’s known to some in her field as the Savant because of her uncanny ability to suss out when, exactly, hate speech will morph into violent action,' Stanley wrote.
Plenty of articles have been written about thwarted attempts at mass killings and attempted mass destruction and credited the save to a 'tip' or said authorities were 'alerted' or details were 'uncovered.' This is the work of the Savant.

The Savant is, in essence, a profiler, which the FBI and other law enforcement agencies have used for decades -- and about which plenty of television shows have been made already.
