Lewis Capaldi has joked that Netflix should fire staff after a billboard advertising his upcoming documentary featured a young Liz Truss

The Scottish singer, 26, is set to release his new documentary, How I'm Feeling Now, on the streaming platform on April 5.

It sees him candidly discuss his mental health struggles, diagnosis with Tourette's and life in the spotlight.

On Tuesday, Lewis shared one of the hilarious billboard's advertising the upcoming music documentary on Twitter.

Instead of Capaldi featuring on the large screen, a photo of Liz Truss in her younger days, who he has previously been compared to, was on display.

His Twitter caption read: 'Ffs whoever is in charge of the billboards at Netflix needs firing'. 

Netflix's official Twitter account responded: 'I had a good run'

Lewis previously laughed off comparisons between himself and the former Prime Minister. He tweeted: 'Why do I look like so many female politicians.'

The Someone You Loved singer was responding to a tweet sharing a picture of a young Liz Truss captioned: 'Congratulations @LewisCapaldi on becoming the next Prime minister #LizTruss. 

Lewis has candidly discussed his ongoing mental health struggles in a new Netflix documentary How I'm Feeling Now.

In the trailer, the singer squirmed as his mother recalled having to pick him up from a one night stand after he suffered a panic attack.

'That's not a story that needs to be told' he said as his mother laughing and told the camera about the awkward incident.

She said: 'Having to be picked up by you're mother from your one night stand because you are having a panic attack'.

Only for Lewis reply sarcastically: 'So glad you brought that up'.

Directed by BAFTA winner Joe Pearlman the all-access documentary follows Lewis Capaldi at a pivotal moment in his career after achieving global success with his debut album.

And the trailer shows him struggling with the pressures of his fame as the world waits for new music.

It will also delve into his Tourette's after the mega star bravely revealed his diagnosis to the world last year.

Discussing the film on Instagram he wrote: 'The film is called 'How I'm Feeling Now' and it's named after a song I wrote, which will be released at midnight on the 17th of March'.

'It's the last song I wrote for my upcoming album and is a tune that's all about something I've never really written about in my music before
