Gabby Logan has revealed that she is 'careful' about what she posts online after Gary Lineker came under fire for his anti-Conservative tweets.

The BBC Sport presenter, 49, said anyone working for the broadcaster has to be 'careful' about what they say and what the 'repercussions' might be.

Her comments come after Gary, 62, was temporarily taken off air after sharing a tweet comparing the Government's language about migration to Nazi Germany.

Addressing the impartiality row, Gabby told the Daily Star'You've got to be careful how you express yourself, I think about what I say.

'Like anybody else who works at the BBC, I think about what the repercussions are going to be.'

Gabby went on to say that sports pundit Gary had many 'terrible things' said to him on Twitter as she warned against getting into debates with 'faceless people' online.

'Sometimes it's easier not to say things on Twitter, because you enter into a debate with faceless people who you don't know,' she added.

After Gary was suspended following his tweets, an array of BBC Sport presenters refused to go on air in solidarity and Match of the Day was forced to run without hosts.

Stars like Ian Wright and Alan Shearer pulled out of a planned appearances on the BBC in support of Gary after he was temporarily stood down by the corporation.

Radio 5 Live programmes were also scrapped, including the 606 phone-ins and build-up to Saturday and Sunday matches.

But Gabby continued to front coverage of the Six Nations tournament and has now said she was not involved with the situation in the football department that day.

Gary plunged the BBC into a 'civil war' between talent and management over whether bosses were right to apologise to the Match of the Day star for taking him off the air.

He sparked chaos at the BBC when he was asked to step back from presenting Match of the Day after backlash over a tweet comparing the Government's migrant crackdown to Nazi Germany.
