Award-winning Dave sitcom returns with TV favourite couple for a FIFTH season trends now
The stars and creators of one of Dave's most popular sitcom have revealed the show will return for a fifth season.
Despite the fourth series not yet airing it's been confirmed the channel have already recommissioned the comedy for another outing after it was named Best Comedy at the Broadcast Digital Awards 2022.
Meet The Richardsons stars real-life couple Jon Richardson and Lucy Beaumont who play a fictionalise version of themsleves in the mockumentry series.
Speaking to The Sun Lucy said: 'Yes, we have another series commissioned. The idea for the next series is that we want to do a sitcom and make it a bit like Heartbeat with gags, but because Jon wants to retire soon, he wants to win an award,'
'So he wants the sitcom to be more surreal and abstract'.

'So each of us goes and comes up with ideas for our own sitcom, then we take it to a focus group and we have to come back together'.
The fourth series which airs on the Freeview channel from April 5, sees the couple move house and features guest stars including Ben Elton and Adrian Chiles.
The show first launched on the channel in 2020 with the couple writing it alongside Peter Kay's Car Share scribe Tim Reid.
It comes after Countdown's Rachel Riley confessed that she urinates in the shower during a lie-detector challenge with husband Pasha Kovalev on Jon and Lucy's new show Odd Couples.
The panel show is hosted by the couple and sees the pair pit two celebrity couples against each other, sending them to a retreat to choose who has the best relationship.
In the first episode, Rachel and Pasha are against Richard Herring and Catie Wilkins, doing a variety of challenges that could cause arguments including the lie-detector test.
