And Pete Murray has now revealed that he thought his 2003 breakout album, Feeler, was 'destined' to flop. The 53-year-old So Beautiful hitmaker made the shock admission during an interview on the Jess Rowe Big Talk Show on Tuesday. Released to widespread acclaim, Feeler was Pete's second album and ultimately sold over 500,000 copies, reaching No. 1 on Australia's ARIA chart. But Pete admitted to host Rowe that at the time he thought it was 'destined to fail.' Singer-songwriter Pete Murray thought his 2003 breakout album Feeler was 'destined' to flop. Pete is pictured performing in 2020 'Sometimes you get into a post-album blues after an album gets released and you just can't think anything good about it... I thought that I failed,' he confessed. 'And I didn't think it was going to work and I had everyone around me thinking "this is fantastic" and I just couldn't hear it.' When Feeler first came out, Murray had convinced himself that he'd missed his one 'chance' to release a successful album on a major label. However, once radio stations heard the record it started to take off and became a blockbuster hit in the Australian music industry. Released to widespread acclaim, Feeler was Pete's second album and ultimately sold over 500,000 copies, reaching No. 1 on Australia's ARIA chart Elsewhere in the chat, the Queensland-born star talked about his heartbreak at the loss of his father, who died soon after he turned 18. Describing the moment as a 'shock', he said it was a massive loss, adding: 'I had turned 18 two months earlier and we went out for dinner and I had my first drink with him… and then he was taken from me and that was a hard thing. 'I went into a little bit of depression without realising what it is was for a couple of years after that,' he added. It comes after the performer flaunted flaunted his ripped chest in just a pair of jeans on the February month's cover of Men's Health magazine. Looking like he was in the best shape of his life as he posed next to a beach with his ripping six-pack on display, Pete looked to have barely aged from his hitmaking heyday. Murray is a father of four to sons Pedro and Charlie from his first marriage. He shares daughters Saachi and Sahara with wife Mira.
