But the multi-millionaire Hollywood agent ultimately got the last laugh after finding love with Australian bombshell, Pia Whitesell.
Patrick, 58, and Pia, who is 18 years her husband's junior, secretly tied the knot in 2021 after going public with their relationship two years prior.
While they've remained pretty tight-lipped about their relationship, the pair have been inseparable - with the stunning actress regularly posting sweet and wholesome content with her beau on Instagram.
Pia is a household name in Australia. The model-turned-actress is best known for her stint on the long-running soap Home and Away, playing Senior Constable Katarina Chapman on the show from 2015 to the 2018 season finale.

But Pia's love life hasn't always been a fairytale - the mother of two previously went through a highly publicised divorce from footy hero Brad Miller, which was soon followed by a failed engagement to a Sydney businessman.
Before she became a household name in Australia, Pia was a teenage mother who welcomed her first son at the tender age of 19. In 2003, she gave birth to her eldest son, Isaiah.
In 2005, she met AFL legend Brad, the man who became her first husband.
The pair appeared to have a happy life together, with Pia giving birth to their son Lennox in October 2006. She married the retired Richmond player the following year.

However, the couple sadly announced their split in 2015 after 10 years together - the break-up blamed on their hectic work schedules.
Shortly after their split, Pia was linked to film producer and businessman Tyson Mullane. They announced their romance on Valentine's Day in 2016.
In November 2017, Pia confirmed their engagement in a gushing Instagram post, but the lovebirds never made it down the aisle.
While neither confirmed the end of their engagement, they both quietly unfollowed each other on social media, and Pia was spotted without her ring in April 2019.

Pia and Patrick tied the knot in 2021 at an undisclosed location in either the US or Mexico.
They appear to have celebrated her honeymoon with Patrick in Cabo, Mexico, in March.
Her engagement ring alone - a solitaire oval diamond sparkler - is estimated to be worth between US$800,000 (AU$1.10million) and US$1.4million (AU$1.9million).
