Emmerdale fans are predicting a nasty downfall for nurse Wendy Posner amid her romance with Dr Liam Cavanagh.

The pair have turned up the heat in the Dales in recent episodes after she kissed the GP behind her partner Bob Hope's (Tony Audenshaw) back.

The pair went on to form an erotic fiction writing partnership, with Dr Liam (Jonny McPherson) even winning an award for his material published in magazine Murder Most Murky, with the pair sharing a passionate smooch after he was named champion.

However, an incriminating photograph made it into the most recent edition of the publication, prompting Wendy (Susan Cookson) to race around the village and buy every copy in sight under the guise of her purchasing them for the surgery waiting room, with Wendy telling Liam she wanted to end their writing partnership.

Viewers of the ITV soap are predicting any hope of Wendy and Bob rekindling their flame is no more, as it emerged Bob already had a copy of Murder Most Murky.

Taking to Twitter, one person wrote: 'Wendy isn't being very discreet at all. She'll get caught if she's not careful.'

While someone else shared: 'Just wait until Bob finds out about Liam and Wendy. He won't be happy especially as Wendy accused Bob of cheating with Bernice originally.'

Another person posted: 'Wendy Just tell Bob you're s***ging Liam. Buying magazines ain't the answer. You're welcome.'

'Wendy’s just bought all the magazines and Bob’s already got one,' wrote another person.

Someone else shared: 'Getting every copy of the book isn't going to help Wendy.'

While another person advised: 'Wendy, just tell Bob you don't love him.'

It comes after Emmerdale viewers had very mixed opinions on the Dales' couple of the moment as their romance continued to blossom last week.

In an attempt to woo Dr Liam for a third night in a row, Wendy sat down with the GP and whipped out some of her erotic fiction.

On Monday, the heat was turned up in the village as Dr Liam (Jonny McPherson) and Wendy (Susan Cookson) shared a passionate kiss at the surgery, while across the village Bernice Blackstock (Samantha Giles) attempted to lock lips with Wendy's long-term partner Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw) over a bottle of wine.

During Tuesday's episode fans were astounded as they spotted a very visible love bite on Liam's neck after his night of passion with Wendy.

And, while Bob put the brakes on his romance with Bernice on Wednesday, Liam was unable to resist Wendy again as she read him her erotic fiction, with the medic clearly finding her talent for writing very attractive.

However, the scenes left viewers divided, with some taking to Twitter to express their disgust, while others thought the pair could be in it for the long run.

One person wrote: 'Hearing Wendy reading her ideas for the book to Liam makes me feel slightly sick.'

While someone else shared: 'I just imagined Liam & Wendy writing erotic fiction using Latin medical terms to describe "down below" details.'

Another person posted: 'Writing raunchy novels together isn't going to help Liam and Wendy with their feelings, is it?'

'Liam and fake nurse Wendy are so cringey,' wrote another audience member at home, while someone else remarked:
