Memorial Day weekend kicked off for fans of Showtime's Yellowjackets with the Season 2 finale, that left fans quite stunned.

The finale - entitled Storytelling - featured a wilderness reunion of the adults from the 1996 Yellowjackets soccer team who survived the 1996 plane crash, though it ended in tragedy when Christina Ricci's Misty accidentally killed Juliette Lewis' Natalie.

The death was shocking for many fans, some of whom actually sent death threats to co-showrunner Ashley Lyle, who co-created the series with Bart Nickerson.

The finale was available to stream and on demand on Friday before it aired Sunday on Showtime.

Ricci, 43, took to Instagram on Monday sharing a photo of her and Lewis from the Yellowjackets set, along with a heartfelt message about her co-star.

'@juliettelewis you are one in a million. I love you so much,' Ricci began in the caption of her post.

'We have loved, we have laughed, we have giggled, we have fought and made up, we are sisters,' she continued.

Ricci added, 'I was your secret stalker as a 14 year old to your movie star 18 year old asking people who had worked with you about your habits, what you ate!!'

'That 14 year old cannot believe I got to work with you. Let alone become your friend. I will never stop feeling so lucky,' Ricci concluded.

Lewis also took to Instagram on Monday, sharing some snaps from her work on the new season with a heartfelt message.
