Inside Maya Jama's love life: We take a look back at the Love Island host's ... trends now

She's set to make a sizzling return to screens on Monday as a new crop of sexy singletons enter the Love Island villa in a bid to find true love.

But while she helps the newest islanders find their love match, what about host Maya Jama's own love life?

At the beginning of 2023, she declared she was single following her split from basketball player Ben Simmons, even giving a firm 'no' when asked if she had her eye on someone new.

She recently sparked reconciliation rumours with her former boyfriend Stormzy, while she was also linked to Hollywood hunk Leonardo DiCaprio earlier this year.

So with the new series of Love Island set to kick off soon, we take a look back at Maya Jama's love life...

Maya's relationship status

In January this year, the 28-year-old confirmed that she's 'very, very single' following on from her split with fiancé Ben Simmons in 2002.

Clarifying her relationship status to The Sunday Times, she declared: 'I’m really, really single right now. Newly single. It’s only been a month, but it’s nice.'

And when she asked if there's anyone new on the horizon, she replied with a hard 'No'.

Maya and Stormzy

Though the presenter has yet to confirm if she's currently dating, that hasn't stopped the rumour mill from going into overdrive after she was recently linked once more to ex Stormzy.

The former couple dated for four years before parting ways in 2019, with the rapper, 29, publicly declaring he has 'never loved anyone how I've loved her'.

Maya's team previously shut down relationship speculation after they were linked last year insisting at the time they were just friends, but insiders now claim they have been enjoying spending time together at his house.

A source told The Sun last month: 'The truth is she's actually back in regular contact with Stormzy and has been heading to his house to meet up away from the spotlight.

'She visited him a couple of times before her recent holiday to Thailand and it sounds as though they've really clicked again.'

In insider went on: 'The connection never went away. They're both keen to tiptoe around it a bit rather than throw themselves into anything public but they're enjoying being close again.'

Maya and Stormzy split up in 2019 and have remained friends, with Stormzy previously describing their split as 'the biggest loss a man can have'.

He has always denied any infidelity in the relationship but admitted he had to learn some hard lessons about his behaviour, describing it as 'disrespectful'.

Speaking to Louis Theroux on his new interview series, the rapper admitted to making mistakes during their four-year relationship but revealed he has since grown.

He explained: 'My break-up, that was probably the biggest catalyst for growth as a man. It was like, OK, you made a mistake and you lose someone you loved, someone you cared for, someone who is special to you.

'That’s probably the biggest loss a man can have, isn’t it? Away from someone passing away, that’s the biggest loss you can have.'

It's not the first time that Stormzy has spoken of his relationship with Maya, having declared that he still loves her 'wholeheartedly' and wants to marry and have children with his ex-girlfriend in the future.

In 2020, he admitted he has 'never
