MasterChef's Khanh Ong breaks his silence about romance rumours with Matt Agnew ... trends now

MasterChef Australia star Khanh Ong has laughed off rumours of a romance with his best friend, The Bachelor star Matt Agnew.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia ahead of his epic VIVID Chefs on the Harbour event on Saturday night, the celebrity chef said the pair often have a chuckle about the speculation. 

The rumours were sparked after the pair enjoyed a getaway to Vietnam earlier this year.

Matt displayed his ripped physique at the beach in a video shared by Khanh and hours later, the pair cuddled up as they enjoyed a boat ride across a river.

Smiling and laughing, Matt and Khanh posed for video footage while both wearing life jackets.

And back July 2022, the astrophysicist and the chef played up for the camera in a photo booth while attending a charity function.

They appeared to lean in for a kiss and were just inches away from locking lips as the camera snapped the photo. 

'The rumours are hilarious because he (Matt) is the straightest cis-gendered male and I am obviously gay. We are friends and we hang out,' Khanh told Daily Mail Australia on Friday. 

He explained he and Matt have been friends for years, and provide each other with something that is often missing in romantic relationships - companionship.

'We provide something to each other that I think we are both missing and that is just companionship,' he said.

'We have dinners, we talk about our careers and what we want to do next, and it's just a sounding board where there is no judgement and I think that is a really healthy relationship.'

'I think the funniest thing is, is that I could be doing this with a girlfriend and no one could expect me to be dating them,' he added. 

Khahn said he also has a laugh over the amount of women Matt has been linked to.
