Matt Shirvington is set to replace David 'Kochie' Koch on Sunrise next week. 

And the former Olympian has revealed the very cheeky requests he's had from fans over the years after rising to fame on the race track. 

Matt, 44, said he's had to sign autographs on people's bodies before - and he's happily obliged. 

'I have signed all manner of body parts over the years,' Matt told PerthNow

On a more serious note, the former sprinter also recalled one sweet moment he shared with a young fan and runner.

He revealed he once sent his spikes to a kid who went on to compete with them on the track years later. 

'I remember thinking at the time, you really have to follow through for your fans and the people who support you because who knows what it will lead to,' he explained. 

Matt will take over for Kochie, 67, from Monday and co-host Sunrise alongside Natalie Barr, 55. 

Speaking about his new role, Matt said he has big shoes to fill, but is 'excited' to take on the reins of the breakfast TV show.
