Adam Peaty has revealed he had his tonsils removed as he shared an update from his hospital bed in Leicester on Tuesday.
The Olympic gold medal swimmer, 28, shared in an Instagram post that his tonsils had been 'affecting him for quite a long time' and so finally had them taken out privately at the Nuffield.
He flashed a smile to the camera as he lay in bed wearing a hospital gown holding up his hand with a cannula in.
The British breaststroke icon penned: 'Tonsillectomy went well and on the road to recovery.
'Something that was affecting me for quite a long time with a lot of antibiotics to keep under control but I finally got my tonsils removed.
