Ellie Gonsalves Influencer bride slams critics of her see-through wedding dress trends now
Australian model Ellie Gonsalves has slammed trolls who criticised her for wearing a 'naked' dress to her wedding last month
The influencer, 33, wed partner Ross Scutts in a lavish Gold Coast ceremony, and wore not one but three designer gowns to mark the occasion.
However it was her third dress - a daring white mini dress with sheer panels and a plunging neckline - that sparked online backlash, as many said it was inappropriate for a wedding.
Ellie finally hit back at her critics on Sunday, saying that she was a victim of society's 'restrictive' expectations of women and how they should dress.
'In an era where women are encouraged to exercise agency over their bodies, it is disheartening to witness the barrage of hate and derogatory comments I received for what some have described as my 'daring' dress,' she wrote in an article published by 9Honey.

Ellie claimed that the backlash she received exposed how society doesn't support women's 'bodily autonomy'.
'Every individual, regardless of gender, should possess the autonomy to decide what they wear, how they present themselves, and what they share with the world,' she wrote.
'By denying women this autonomy, we perpetuate a harmful culture of control that infringes upon their fundamental rights.'
