Jane McDonald has joined the lineup for the new series of Celebrity Gogglebox with her best friend of 30 years Sue Ravey.

The singer, 60, leaned on her close friend for support following the death of her longtime partner Eddie Rothe, to lung cancer in 2021. 

Sue, who works as Jane's backing singer, moved into her home following Eddie's death, and the pair will appear in Celebrity Gogglebox's new series, which begins on June 16.

Posting the news on Twitter, Jane wrote: 'Appearing on Celebrity Gogglebox with my best friend Sue will be an absolute blast. 

'We've shared some unforgettable moments over the years but I am really looking forward to spending time together on this wonderful show.'

Jane and Eddie were together for 13 years before his death, and she previously discussed his death on Kate Adams' How To Be 60 podcast.

She said: 'So when he died, he took our future. So I think that is, I've got to have a different life now, and that's taken a bit of adjusting to, but I'll get there. Because that's what we do, we get there.'

Jane also said she found comfort in having Sue into her home in Wakefield, adding: 'When you're on your own there's always that the wee small hours in the morning where everything seems a lot worse than it actually is.
