The long-running finance drama Billions will end this year with its upcoming seventh season, it was confirmed Thursday.

Cast member Dan Soder accidentally broke the news in March when he was appearing on NBC Sports Chicago’s Football Night and spilled: 'Season seven, the final season of Billions, is on its way.'

Now a new report in Deadline has provided an official announcement that the show is concluding, with August 11 earmarked as the premiere date for the last season.

Fans of the show were treated in recent months to the news that Damian Lewis will make his grand return as Wall Street viper Bobby 'Axe' Axelrod on season seven.

Damian was on the show from the start, but left at the end of season five in 2021 for various reasons including a desire for more time with his family in the UK.

Last November, however, DailyMail.com exclusively obtained pictures of Damien reprising the role of Axe during a night shoot outside the Tower Of London.

The TV heartthrob made the news official this February by going on "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert and declaring: 'Bobby's back!'

Then this March, Dan was appearing on NBC Sports Chicago when the 'final season' comment slipped out of his mouth.

Instantly recognizing he may have made a faux-pas, he fretted: 'Am I not supposed to say that? I don’t know if I’m supposed to say that.'
