Jeremy Allen White was 'blindsided' by his estranged wife, Addison Timlin, commenting about the difficulties of being a single mother in a Mother's Day Instagram post earlier in May.
The Bear star, 32, shares two daughters Ezer Billie, four, and Dolores Wild, two, with the Californication actress, 31, whom he tied the knot with back in 2019. However, just days before Mother's Day, TMZ reported that Timlin had filed for divorce.
A source close to the former couple recently told Page Six that the actor was 'blindsided' by her lengthy caption where she claimed being a single mother was 'f***ing hard.'
Shortly after uploading the post, Timlin slightly altered the comment to change single mother to 'co-parenting.'
'Addison changed her Instagram post because it wasn’t accurate, a lot of people were like 'What are you talking about?' the insider informed the outlet.

Friends of the stars have claimed that there was no infidelity to prompt the separation, but hinted that his filming schedule in Chicago might have sparked up strains in the relationship.
The source continued, 'Jeremy had no control about where he was filming. He filmed The Bear in Chicago and any time he could, he came home. He is so involved in those girls' lives, he adores his daughters.'
Both White and Timlin first crossed paths when they were teenagers, and also starred in the same 2008 project titled, Afterschool.
They welcomed their first daughter in 2018, and their second two years later in 2020. In October 2019, the stars said 'I do' at a Beverly Hills courthouse.
Earlier in May, TMZ reported that Addison had filed for divorce from the Shameless actor after nearly three years of marriage, but did not cite a specific reason for the sudden separation.
At the time of filing, the actress asked for primary physical custody of their two little ones, allowing Jeremy visitation. However, earlier this month, he asked for joint custody of their daughters, per Page Six.
On Mother's Day, Timlin jumped to her main Instagram page to show a carousel of snaps of herself with her children and added a lengthy caption where she detailed the ups and downs of single parenting.
