Former Loose Women star Saira Khan has slammed ITV's Loose Women after falling out with the show.

Talking to Closer magazine, she said that only Stacey Solomon was allowed to be the fun one on the programme and she had to be the 'loud, gobby one.'

Saira, 53, who left the show three years ago, said: 'I couldn't be who I wanted to be on TV. On Loose Women you saw me being quite feisty. But that's the silo they put me in.

'I wanted to have a bit of fun, but that wasn't for me, that was for Stacey Solomon. Stacey was the fun one, but I had to be the 'loud, gobby one'.

'I don't need to be in environments which I don't have to be in. I've worked hard all my life. I did the show and I enjoyed it, but it doesn't define me.'

MailOnline has contacted a spokesperson for Loose Women for comment.

Last year, Saira claimed her sudden exit from Loose Women came down to ITV bosses trying to make her join OnlyFans.

However, a spokesperson for Loose Women told MailOnline back thehn: 'We strongly refute all of these claims. Duty of care is of paramount importance for all of our panellists. Saira left the Loose Women panel almost two years ago and we wish her well.'

It comes after she told The Mirror: 'The straw that broke the camel's back was when one of the young producers was sent running after me to ask whether I would be prepared to open an OnlyFans account.'

Saira explained: 'To say I was shocked was an understatement. I could see she herself was mortified to ask me. I replied, 'You're asking an Asian woman who has a husband and kids and comes from a Muslim family to open an OnlyFans account?

'It's just on your social media you've been posting images in your underwear and we thought if you could go undercover to see the kind of response you get from men, it would make a great story.

'There and then, I knew my time was up on the show. I felt humiliated, angry, disappointed and like fodder.'

A source close to the ITV show has told MailOnline that OnlyFans and online safety could 'always potentially be the subject of an investigation,' explaining: 'Loose Women Investigates is a strand which has seen reports into a range of different topics of relevance to viewers including missing persons and online safety.'

'Online sites such as Only Fans and their safety have been discussed on the show many times and could always potentially be the subject of an investigation.'

Saira claimed she loves TV presenting but knew she could no longer work in a 'toxic' environment for the sake of her own mental health.

However, the source told MailOnline that Saira had nothing but kind things to say to members of the Loose Women production team when she left the show.

They said: 'Saira exchanged many warm text and whatsapp messages thanking production members for being so supportive whilst working on the programme, so the notion of
