The projected box office numbers are now in, as Barbie and Oppenheimer prepare to go head to head this weekend in an epic, highly-anticipated event that has come to be known as Barbenheimer.

While the numbers for Barbie vary widely, Variety reports the Margot Robbie led film is anticipated to make between $95 million to $110 million in 4,2000 North American theaters this coming weekend.

However, Warner Brothers, who is distributing the film, has estimated the film may pull in a more modest $75 million at the box office.

Rivals and exhibitors think the film has the potential to garner $140 million from Friday to Sunday.

Both Barbie and Oppenheimer are set to be released on July 21, but Variety believes the film about the beloved doll will actually reign supreme at the box office.

'I think for those of us who care about movies, we've been really waiting to have a crowded marketplace again, and now it's here and that's terrific.'

Oppenheimer star Cillian Murphy also sees the double booking as a positive thing.

'I think it's great. I mean, I'll be going to see Barbie. I can't wait to see it,' he told IGN.
