Ashley Cole's wife Sharon Canu broke down in tears as they tied the knot in a dream Italian wedding over the wekeend.

The former Chelsea footballer, 42, shared a beautiful new gallery of images on Tuesday from the couple's lavish ceremony at Hotel La Vecchia Posta in Ladispoli, near Rome.

The sportsman took to Instagram to share a special moment between him and the model as they enjoyed their first dance with a backdrop of fireworks.

Sharon broke down in tears during the ceremony as she was pictured wiping her tears away while Ashley said his vows. 

The England under-21s coach captioned the post: '9 years & 2 children later I married my soul mate. Love you always.'

Ashley shared a picture of the happy couple with their two children, son Jaxon, six, and daughter Grace, four. 

The children wore cute wedding outfits for the star-studded nuptials, where they were joined by a slew of footballers, WAGs and celebrities.

Ashley was pictured standing with Jaxon at the end of the aisle waiting for Sharon to meet them at the front.

Sharon and Grace posed a sweet picture in their luxury bedroom where they got dressed up for the big day.

The model looked stunning in her elegant wedding dress as she walked down the aisle with the person giving her away.

Ashley - who was famously previously married to pop star Cheryl, 40 - and Sharon took a moment away from the madness to have photographs taken of the pair on their own and with their two children.
