Henry Winkler reveals his wife Stacey Weitzman was 'stunned' by his Happy Days ... trends now
Henry Winkler was already a star on Happy Days when he first met his wife Stacey Weitzman back in 1976, but she didn't seem to realize it until their first date.
Winkler, 77, who reunited with his The Lords of Flatbush co-star Sylvester Stallone in July, met Weitzman, 75, in 1976 at Jerry Mangin's Beverly Hills clothing store, where he asked her on a date.
Happy Days was in its third season, with Winkler revealing in an AARP Magazine cover story (via People), when they went on their first date, with his future wife quite surprised when strangers kept coming up to them at the movies.
'She wanted to go to the movies. And I told her that might be difficult. She wanted to know why. I said, "I don’t know how to describe it to you,"' Winkler admitted.
'When we got to the theater, I told her we should sit in the back. She didn’t understand, so we sat in the middle of the theater. And the entire theater came over and said hello. And Stacey said, "Oh!"' Winkler said.
