Jessica Simpson becomes latest celebrity to take a break from Hollywood with ... trends now

Jessica Simpson has become the latest A-list celebrity to take a break from Hollywood - after notable stars including Mark Wahlberg, Julia Roberts and Nicole Kidman ditched California.

The singer-turned-fashion designer, 43, temporarily relocated to Nashville, Tennessee with her family - husband Eric Johnson, 44 and children Maxwell, 11, Ace, 10 and Birdie, four - and revealed her loved ones were much happier outside the glare of Tinseltown.

Signaling she could be set to cut even more ties with LA, earlier this month Jessica put her Hidden Hills mansion on the market for $22 million 10 years after paying Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne $11 million for the property.

'Being in Nashville, even my kids are like, "You laugh the whole time. You're so happy,"' she told E! News at a PetSafe event celebrating National Dog Day recently.

'It's because I'm not on guard,' Jessica explained of her experience in the city which bills itself as 'The Biggest Small Town in the World.'

'I'm with a lot of like-minded people,' Jessica claimed.

'It's not about the celebrities—it's really about the music and the heart and the conversation.'

The focus on music has the Irresistible singer considering returning to the recording studio.

'I'm not nervous at all, but if you were to ask me two years ago when I was talking about coming back to music, I was frightened,' the Dukes of Hazzard star  admitted.

'But now, I know exactly what I want.'

That seems returning to the business on her own terms. 

'I'm building my own platform.' she explained. 

Last year Hollywood actor Mark Wahlberg, 52, relocated to Las Vegas from LA with his wife Rhea Durham, 45, and their four children Ella, 20, Grace, 13, Michael, 17, and Brendan, 14.

Speaking to Fox News Digital in April, the actor said: 'It's really giving the kids a chance to thrive.'

The filmmaker continued, 'It just has the best of both worlds. I know a lot of people, when they think Las Vegas, they think the Strip. 

'But just about 15, 20 minutes away, there's a whole lot of other amazing areas that are all about family and community.'

The devoted dad stressed to the publication that the relocation was 'really about giving the kids an opportunity to pursue their goals and dreams. 

'My daughter's an equestrian,' he noted. 'My son's a golfer. My oldest daughter, now she's off to college. My son's a junior.'

Shifting the focus to his endeavors, he added, 'There's lots of opportunity here as well for me. We're trying to create a studio. We're trying to build the shoe factory. We want to create lots of jobs here.'

During an appearance on "The Talk last fall, the businessman said, 'I moved to Nevada where, after this gubernatorial election, hopefully it will go to legislation and get a bill passed so we can get a tax credit for the state — build a state-of-the-art studio here and make this Hollywood 2.0.'

And the executive producer told Fox last April, 'We're always looking for new opportunities and new adventures.

'I hope to create of a lot of opportunity here. And I moved to California originally to make movies. I've made three movies in the last 15 years in LA. So, as you know, it's been difficult.

'The kids are really happy, and it's all about them.'

Wahlberg put his 12-bedroom, 20-bathroom Beverly Hills mansion on the market for $87.5 million in April 2022. TMZ reported the sale price to an unknown buyer as just above $55million.

He told Fox he was 'hoping to enlist the help of' the state's Republican Gov. Joe Lombardo 'to further his plans for a Vegas-based film studio.'
