The Block's casting director Lucky Price revealed on Sunday some behind-the-scenes tips for future contestants to ensure their success on the show.

Price told news.com.au that applicants needed to pay special attention to the lengthy application form, which is designed to weed out those not committed.

'It's a really rigorous application, there's a reason we do that. It's basic vetting. If you can't get through it, you probably won’t finish your renovation on The Block,' he said.

Price then said future contestants should adopt a positive mindset during their time on the show, so the negative moments don't weigh them down.

'There's going to be days where you get dumped and there's going to be days where you're riding high. It's an extreme situation, but mindset is everything.
