Michelle Dockery was every inch the picture perfect bride as she married her new husband Jasper Waller-Bridge in an intimate ceremony this weekend.

And Orleans House Gallery in Twickenham, provided the ideal backdrop for the service, as the couple tied the knot in its Grade-I listed Octagon Room.

The stunning newly restored room caters for up to 60 guests at the contemporary art gallery set, which is set in gardens overlooking the River Thames.

The Octagon Room is described by the venue's website as the 'heart' of the gallery where guests can enjoy a drinks reception following the ceremony.

As the newlyweds were blessed with good weather, they would also have been able to host their guests on the gallery lawns.

Wedding photos were snapped against the picturesque backdrop of the river and the surrounding woodland of the area.

The Baroque venue was originally built in 1721 with the hopes of entertaining the new Georgian Royalty and also is available to hire for blessings, parties and tastings.

The original building was built 10 years earlier, by architect John James who was comissioned by James Johnston, joint Secretary of State for Scotland, to create a 'simple yet substantial house'.

The building is historically thought to be one of the first important villas along this stretch of the Thames.

The star-studded pals who made the cut for the small guestlist, included her Downton co-stars, Elizabeth McGovern, Lily James, Hugh Bonneville and Jim Carter, famous as unflappable head butler Carson.

However, during the day, Michelle risked being upstaged by her new sister-in-law. Phoebe was dressed in a stunning pink £1,945 Etro double breasted suit and matching deep neck waistcoat, priced at £440.

And the Hollywood look was completed with a giant diamond ring on her engagement finger, a wide-brimmed woven hat, black necktie and sunglasses.

It was a poignant day for Michelle, coming almost eight years after her fiance, the Irish publicist John Dineen, died at the age of 34, following a 15-month battle against a rare form of cancer.
