EXCLUSIVE: Big Brother's Kerry speaks out after she was slammed for 'moaning' ... trends now

Big Brother's Kerry has spoken out for the first time after she was slammed for moaning about being in the higher tax bracket during her time on the show.

The NHS manager from Essex, 40, who was the fourth housemate to be evicted, came under fire for making 'tone deaf' remarks about her salary.

And since she has left the Big Brother house, Kerry revealed she had no regrets from that conversation between her and the housemates.

In an exclusive interview with the MailOnline, Kerry said: 'You forget there's cameras. I'm not in the higher higher [bracket], like I work for the NHS are you joking me.

'I started about 21 years ago on £7,800 and I've now got to senior management. I'm proud to where I've got too and when I was asked, I'm okay to have that conversation.

'You don't get given anything in the NHS, you work your way up and that's how you are respected. That's how you progress.

'I'm sorry if that's upset anybody, but I'd like to see people look through that because I'm a good person.'

Kerry shocked viewers during a conversation with model Zak, 28, food writer Henry, 25, and barman Jenkin, 25, as they discussed the average salaries of MPs compared to the UK population.

In fact, the basic annual salary for an MP is £86,584, UK Parliament reports, with MPs also receiving expenses to cover the costs of running an office, employing staff, having somewhere to live in London or their constituency, and travelling between Parliament and their constituency.

Zak then chimed in that the 'average person makes £20,000 a year' (although the Office for National Statistics states the median annual pay for full-time employees in 2022 was £33,000) which prompted Jenkin to share his salary struggles.

While sharing their thoughts on the politics, Kerry - who revealed that she had voted Conservative all her life - said that MPs 'don't get paid that much', while Henry added they get roughly £60,000 to £70,000 a year.

Jenkin, who now works as a barman, cleaner and a bingo caller in Wales, revealed: 'I went between jobs and applied for benefits and I got £250 a month.'

Open mouthed, Kerry responded: 'That's really shocked me. I think I should stop moaning about being in the higher tax bracket because it p***es me off but then I hear that...'

Zak jumped in: 'A lot of people would love to be in the higher tax bracket and have a little bit more money. Do you know how hard is to get to that higher bracket?'

Which prompted Kerry to respond: 'I'm really proud of myself because it's really hard in the NHS but I've started in Band Two 21 years ago I was on £7,800 a year...'

Kerry continued: 'But I begrudge paying the higher tax bracket massively - I don't think it's fair.'

Elsewhere in the interview, Kerry revealed she was rooting for Jordan and Henry's relationship to blossom further, but urged Matty to back off from the love triangle.

She added: 'I want Matty to back off because Matty has a lovely boyfriend at home who he talks about a lot and I don’t want anything to ruin that.

'Jordan and Henry are my day ones. That love has blossomed since the moment they walked in the house and I just think "back off" Matty.

'Because I know he is really happy on the outside world. So I’d like people not to read into it too much. I think Jordan and Henry could be a thing'.

On Sunday night's episode, Jordan shared another secret kiss with 'husband' Henry.
