Josh Brolin proudly shows off his 10-YEARS of sobriety AA chip as he encourages ... trends now

Josh Brolin took to Instagram on Wednesday to celebrate 10 years of sobriety. 

The Sicario star, 55, shared a picture of his 10-year Alcoholics Anonymous sobriety chip, with the words 'Josh "F****n" Brolin.'

In the caption of the post the actor — who has marked a number of his previous sober milestones on social media — wrote that he was sharing the accomplishment as an inspiration to others. 

'Today isn't to be celebrated any more than any other day with the exception that it represents to others who are thinking about a way out of their tornado of shame that there exists a life where that over-pressurized piece of coal that is you will eventually transform into the diamond of liberty that you always deserved to be.' 

Sobriety coins are given as tokens to twelve-step program members as a way to mark the amount of time they have remained sober.  

His friends and followers took to the comments to congratulate the star, with Johnny Knoxville leaving two heart emojis, and actor Pablo Schreiber sending a prayer hands emojis.

Elizabeth Banks added, 'Amen. Sending love.'

Many of his followers also shared their own sober birthdays.

Brolin entered rehab in 2013 for substance abuse after appearing intoxicated in public on many occasions.

The same year he would split with his ex-wife Diane Lane after eight years of marriage.

The actor has been open about his sobriety journey, having previously posted pictures of himself drunk and disorderly. 

In November of 2021 he marked his eight years of sobriety by sharing a moving post, thanking his wife who he explained had got him a card for the occasion.

Brolin is now married to Kathryn Boyd Brolin, 36, since 2016. They share four-year-old daughter, Westlyn Reign, and two-year-old Chapel Grace.
