They were two teenagers from Newcastle who took the world by storm with the release of their debut 1995 album Frogstomp.

As the drummer and bassist of a popular rock band, they sold millions of records and toured the world.

More recently, they have become involved in a nasty feud with their band's singer Daniel Johns and penned a tell-all memoir discussing their time in the band. 

So can you identify them? 

It's Ben Gillies and Chris Joannou from Silverchair, who recently shared an adorable throwback photo from their childhood to celebrate 40 years of friendship.

Ben, 44, and Chris, 43, took to Instagram on Friday to share a precious photo of them together in the early 80s, when they were just four years old. 

The pair are all smiles are they pose up a storm together in a garage and demonstrate that their friendship is as strong as ever four decades on.
