But now, five months after she split from her rock star boyfriend Michael Shuman, the actress, 34, appears to rekindled their romance - and even prompted questions over whether they have got engaged by wearing a ring on her wedding finger.
Michael, a musician in the American rock band Queens of the Stone Age, was seen leaving London's Harold Pinter theatre where Lily is currently starring in the play Lyonesse on Wednesday night.
Lily stars as a young film executive named Kate who is summoned by Elaine, a reclusive and talented actress who disappears in mysterious circumstances - played by Kristin Scott Thomas. 30 years later, Elaine summons Kate to her remote Cornish home to mastermind her comeback.
Dressed in a long black coat and beanie hat, smiling Lily was seen leaving in the same car as Michael, 38, with sources close to the actress confirming that they are now a couple again.

Once again she was wearing the gold band on her left hand, however despite her wearing it two days running, sources close to Lily insisted the ring was one she wears for the play.
A source said: 'Lily couldn't stop smiling as she left the theatre, and as she left she got into a car which Michael got into really soon after.
