However Holly Willoughby, 42, who presented alongside Josie, 38, on numerous occasions, remained notably silent after quitting the ITV show last month when an alleged plot to kidnap and murder her was exposed.

Tuesday's instalment also featured a pre-recorded video message from Josie, 38, as she prepared to jet off down under.

Saying: 'Hello you guys, so the rumours are true! I am heading to the jungle.... just arrived at Heathrow Airport now. I have said an emotional goodbye to Reggie [her son] and I keep thinking to myself 'What have I done? What have I signed up for?''.

'I'm just hoping that I am a survivor but thank you for all your support! I just hope I get through this because I cannot stand creepy crawlies, I don't like heights, I don't like rats and I don't like snakes, so wish me luck!'.

Meanwhile Rylan said: 'She's so nervous but I think she's going to be brilliant!'.

While Cat gushed: 'She's so brave!'.

Rylan added: 'I think I speak for everyone here when I say we are so excited to watch her in the jungle, it's going to be gold!'.

It comes after Josie shared her secret heartache at signing up to appear on the ITV show, confessing she is devastated at being away from her five-year-old son Reggie for the next month.

When asked at Brisbane airport what she will miss most, she told MailOnline: 'My little boy, he's only five.

'It was emotional [saying goodbye], I can't talk about it.

Josie, who also admitted she was 'excited' to be there, attempted to keep her deal to join I'm A Celeb a secret, insisting that she was in Australia for a weight loss retreat.

She said she would happily enjoy the rice and beans that the contestants are given for their daily meal.

Josie didn't rule out winning either, saying: 'I guess we'll have to wait and see, I don't know.'

The host also urged This Morning viewers to tune into the show in her absence.

Speaking of her co-star Craig Doyle, Josie said: 'Ahh he's so lush, I love Craig, he's so nice.

'He's on with Cat Deeley on Wednesday and the Rylan too. So, make sure you don't miss it.

She was seen taking selfies with fans at Heathrow airport yesterday – confirming speculation that she had signed to the ITV show.

Bosses at the channel are said to be very keen to increase her profile following her popularity on their daytime programm. Josie will join the likes of Nigel Farage and influencer Nella Rose - who have already arrived - in Oz.

However, Josie is the bookies' favourite to be crowned this year's Queen of the Jungle after she won the nation's hearts and votes during her 2010 Big Brother appearance.

Her fun-loving charisma meant the fellow housemates selected her to receive a ticket to the final and Josie won with 77 percent of the public vote - the highest score out of any other series.

She became a household name earlier this year when she stepped in to present This Morning alongside Holly Willoughby after Phillip Schofield was ousted.

The 10 celebrities will be seen for the first time on Sunday night's launch show when they meet Ant and Dec and prepare to kick off three weeks of living with creepy crawlies and Bushtucker Trials.

One controversial campmate this year is former leader of the Brexit Party, Nigel, who will be hoping to mimic the success of Matt Hancock last year, who went from being one of the most despised campmates to finishing in third place.

Nigel is the latest in a long list of political figures to try their luck on the ITV reality show, including MPs Nadine Dorries and Lembit Opik, and Boris Johnson's father, Stanley.

Yet many would argue that he has more critics than his predecessors, with his controversial political views changing the face of Britain and dividing the nation.

The show begins on Sunday November 19.
